“The world will not invite you to the feast. You must burst in, demand a seat, and take it.”
Following on from the inaugural event in September, ‘She Who Dares, Wins’ returned to Bournemouth last week with another inspirational event organised by the team responsible for Silicon Beach, spearheaded by Matt Desmier.
‘She Who Dares, Wins’ featured some terrific female speakers who’ve all achieved admirable and remarkable success in their careers, including Anna Watkins from Guardian Labs, and organiser of Flock NY, Emma Sexton from Make Your Words Work.
Ashton, Olivia and myself (Claudia) were all delighted to be chosen by CuCo to attend the talks at the luxurious Greenhouse Hotel and also participate in the exciting open floor panel discussion later in the afternoon.
The event was filled with inspirational women who spoke eloquently about collaboration, confidence and culture. The importance of encouraging entrepreneurship was a key theme throughout, as well as the importance of both passion and persistence in business efforts.
During the networking break, we were given the priceless opportunity to meet, greet and build relationships with other Bournemouth professionals, as well as strengthen existing connections.
Personal highlights throughout the panel discussion included Emma’s keynote about giving your team the opportunity to take leadership of projects they are most passionate about, as well as the salient theme of taking control over personal development and passion for your work. ….I also particularly enjoyed Matt Desmier’s pink blazer!
Olivia, Ashton and myself left feeling refreshed, inspired, full of cake and proud of the women pushing forward Bournemouth’s booming digital economy.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to Matt Desmier, for organising yet another superlative event.
