CuCo Creative’s journey to becoming a successful sustainable design agency
Since celebrating our 15-year milestone, CuCo Creative’s co-founders, Christian and Tony, have been extremely grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received. Reflecting on our journey, a significant pinnacle of our time as a creative agency has been the evolution of our journey to become a completely sustainable design agency.

Since CuCo Creative was founded in 2008, our ethical philosophy has been established and has remained in the heart of CuCo ever since. Growing the agency on a green pathway meant from day one, CuCo Creative had set its sights high on doing its bit for the planet and helping support brands who also wanted to develop their sustainable footprint. On the journey to becoming a fully sustainable creative marketing agency, CuCo has come leaps and bounds from the beginning, progressing its ethical stance and finding innovative and sustainable solutions for clients.
Over the last five years, CuCo is proud to announce that their client base has expanded widely and is now collaborating with an amazing rapport of like-minded and eco-conscious brands. The harmonious blend of two ethical companies has never felt so rewarding, and CuCo loves creating branding and packaging design projects that give back to the planet. While the list of CuCo’s ethical clientele is extensive, a current green-fingered brand that stands out is the work with Hayden Hill.
Hayden Hill is a luxury garment bag company that offers a range of organic cotton storage solutions to preserve your cherished items. Their values and ethos align seamlessly with CuCo’s, valuing the importance of using sustainably sourced materials for their products. Why do we love working with Hayden Hill so much? It’s the compassion they show towards the people who work for them, and how committed they are to giving back to everyone that plays their part in the Hayden Hill journey. They believe in supporting the region where the products are made and recently re-visited India to explore their organic cotton farm and meet the local farmers to ensure high-quality working conditions and well-being, as their partnership with the Leather Working Group promised. During their visit, they also rolled up their sleeves and gave a helping hand at the local orphanage close to our founders’ hearts. Here, they give back with an ongoing support package for the orphanage, which we think is an outstanding act of caring.
Christian Cutler, Creative Director at CuCo, goes on to say:
“Brand stories that are built on strong ethical values and commitment to sustainability, similar to those of Hayden Hill, are the like-minded relationships our branding agency thrives on. Our design team are passionate about making a change in our industry for the good and will always explore all sustainable design opportunities for each and every one of the projects we work on, which makes me incredibly proud.”
It has been an incredible journey to see how our innovation to sustainable solutions has evolved through the 15 years of working with like-minded clients, and CuCo Creative is excited to see how much further our agency can drive sustainability through design. Especially regarding packaging design, where we have delivered across so many areas, such as recyclable materials, including using only FSC accredited papers, development with mycelium, printing with only biodegradable vegetable inks, and many more! And that’s why CuCo is an expert in sustainable packaging design or creating sustainable marketing materials. But as mentioned, CuCo’s greener journey doesn’t just stop at the client’s work. CuCo Creative is beyond proud to say that during our 15 years, we have had a design studio working on servers and web hosting that runs off 100% renewable energy and works with all state-of-the-art eco-friendly print technology.
Tony Cook, Digital Director at CuCo Creative, explains:
“As a fast-growing creative agency, we should show the same level of sustainable commitment in the digital design world as we do for branding, marketing and packaging design. Exploring the best sustainable digital practices has been critical for CuCo’s digital team over the last 15 years. But it doesn’t stop. We keep looking for the best practices to offer our clients the best solutions for the better.”
Another pivotal moment in CuCo’s movement to become completely eco-friendly has been our partnership with Ecologi. At CuCo, we are so proud to boast about the small ecosystem we have grown, being responsible for planting over 1170 trees worldwide and preventing 42.06 tonnes of harmful tCO2e into the atmosphere.
Our next goals continue to work towards a greener future with more eco-friendly, bright-eyed brands committed to change to save our planet. If this sounds like your company and you’re looking for a sustainable design agency for any branding, marketing, packaging design, or digital work, don’t hesitate to get in contact! We can’t wait to offer you our 15 years of sustainable expertise.
