As a former florist I must admit I love Christmas! It gives me creative license to make what I want and push it on people as presents! Ok I am not quite that rude but I do create headaches within my household as I can’t stop creating presents or household decorations, and don’t get me started on the baking! Filling the house with smells and aromas which you only get at Christmas! Yes oh yes! I do love it!
Hence I thought I would share what I have been up to!
This weekend saw me making wreaths created from hangers, and pine branches wrapped around them, which were collected from fallen pine trees around the Dorset area. A good work out as well as a foraging trip!
Whilst I was wrapping the wreaths I oven dried oranges and apples which decorated the tree, wreaths and I even used them to hang on presents for decorations. This can be done so easily and doesn’t cost much. The whole family can get involved!
When it came to presents we decided to pickle quail eggs and cook up flavoured oils. This year we used the homegrown chillies and rosemary and added a few garlic cloves for that extra kick!
The weirdest creation though was our home made TV stand! There had been pallets loitering around the studio collecting dust so after taking inspiration from CuCo’s creative office Pintrest board I decided my family and I were to utilise them and make a TV and stereo stand!
Before you ask, no I don’t have extra hours in the day I just don’t know how to sit still! Guess it is a plus at Christmas and as long as I am tucked away in a corner, my family don’t have to worry about the next thing I will be asking them to help me with!
Saying that though, making the gingerbread house this weekend! Can’t wait!!!
Happy Christmas all!
