The Ghost of Christmas

Christmas came early to the CuCo studio this year!
Having recently completed ‘The Home of Halloween‘ identity for worldwide attraction, The Dungeons , CuCo were chuffed when long-term client Merlin Entertainments approached us to create their ‘Ghost of Christmas’ brand mark as well!
Taking inspiration from classic stories such as Charles’ Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’ in addition to more contemporary sources such as, Tim Burton’s ‘A Nightmare before Christmas,’ The Dungeons wanted a logo that could appear on multiple marketing and advertising platforms. They wanted collateral to help drive awareness of something new and different happening at the Dungeons in the lead-up to Christmas.
We immediately (Okay, after a quick cup of coffee…) got to work and kicked our design brains into gear. How could we best combine the Dungeons spooooky (see what we did there?!) identity with the feel of Christmas? The team spent a long time sketching, re-sketching and re-re-sketching until deciding on the perfect design.
We decided to use a decorative font that represents the Victorian period, with an energetic, flowing style which was coloured grey to resemble the visual of a ghost.
The final touch was to create eight separate versions, each with the Dungeon’s location included. We wrote these in the corporate Dungeons-red colour, which also helped to add a touch of Christmas to the design.
And here it is…!
You can also see our crafty work on the Dungeons website and if you are lucky, the logo will show up on your google ads:
We hope that you are getting as excited for Christmas as we are!
