As CuCo Creative continues to expand its digital services, a newly published report reveals a thumping ten per cent increase in spending on UK online advertising during the first half of 2010.
UK marketers invested a remarkable £1,986.6 million in the medium between January and June, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau.
This lifted online advertising’s market share to an unprecedented 24.3 per cent – with power to add as the influence of the internet continues to grow apace.
It’s been an encouraging six months for the advertising industry in general, with total UK expenditure up 6.3 per cent to an eyewatering £8.1 billion.
But it’s the online sector that has shown the biggest surge, with display ads, banners, video and eNewsletters all packing a powerful punch.
Newly released data suggests that 40.5 million Brits now use the internet – a ten per cent improvement on 12 months previously – and nine out of every ten people going online have broadband.
Social networks and blogs are said to account for nearly a quarter of all time spent online in the UK.
