Now unerringly recognised as one of the tastiest Food Festivals in the UK, CuCo were absolutely delighted when asked to develop a whole new, fresh-as-a-daisy WordPress website in celebration of Christchurch Food & Wine Festival’s 15th Anniversary.
The hot-as-a-chilli foodie extravaganza is a much-loved annual event for the people of Christchurch and beyond, and needless to say the team were beyond excited to sink our teeth into this one! Here at CuCo we are big food lovers, so building a website that would help promote local food companies as well as introducing our abundant local farmers… what could be better?
Since it’s debut in 2000 the festival has gone from strength to strength, adapting and improving every year. We were hungry to get started.
We wanted the new website to deliver the right brand message for the festival. It needed to bring the festival to life, to give people a taste of just what the festival is all about. It needed to be easily navigated, informative and attract more visitors than ever before, appealing to target audiences as diverse as young families and elderly couples.
The website was built on CuCo’s preferred website solution, WordPress, the user-friendly CMS based on PHP and MySQL.
The team relished the challenge, and when the new website went live in April, the response was amazing.
With loads to do including demonstrations from some of Christchurch most zealous local chefs, a Kids Kitchen, the Great Christchurch Bake-Off and even a visit from the BBC’s ‘Invasion of the job snatches’ Carl Owen, this year’s Food & Wine Festival was a resounding success, with record numbers of visitors in attendance.
