It was three years ago that we heard the sad news that a long-term friend and client of CuCo had lost his wife to Secondary Breast Cancer. She was just 38 years old.

In memory of his wife, our client founded ‘Secondary1st’, a new charity dedicated to supporting the effective prevention and treatment of Secondary Breast Cancer.

Today, Secondary1st works hard to support those battling the disease, as well as bring light and knowledge to the cause. There is lack of public awareness and funding for Secondary Breast Cancer research, alarmingly so considering how common the disease is among women of all ages.

When CuCo first heard about the set-up of the charity three years ago, we immediately felt compelled to be involved and help in the best way we could – by donating our time and expertise to promoting the charity. In response, we were appointed to design and build a fully-responsive website for the charity.

CuCo built Secondary1st’s website using WordPress as the CMS – all within one month. A prompt turnaround was imperative to Secondary1st as it was essential that the site was live in time for the official launch of the charity in London – which CuCo were lucky enough to attend.

CuCo’s Digital Director, Tony Cook, optimised the website to help boost support for the charity, raise it’s profile and encourage donations. On the website, visitors can read the story of the charity, and are provided with many different ideas, tips and inspirations for fundraising and participating in Secondary1st’s events.

It is our sincere hope that the site can also play an informative role in encouraging the public to improve their understanding of Secondary Breast Cancer, and how they can help support those who are currently fighting the disease.

CuCo are proud to have been named a Corporate Patron of the charity, and still continue to maintain the website for the charity to this day. We constantly review the site, in order to help Secondary1st gain as much exposure, and as many donations, as possible.

We’re very fortunate to work with some wonderful charities, and we’re very proud of what we achieve with them.
