Remember back in January when CuCo illustrated an all-new pictorial park map for Dorset theme park attraction Adventure Wonderland? Needless to say, what we delivered was bursting with colour, energy and fun, and the client was extremely pleased with the end result.

We’ve since been asked by a number of our other clients to work on unique illustration projects, including a new map for the recently expanded Oceanarium on Bournemouth Seafront. But more on that soon…

Illustrations are a great way for a brand to add it’s distinctive personality and character to it’s overall look and this summer another of our tourism clients, Athelhampton House & Gardens, commissioned CuCo to design and develop a totally new concept for their fantastic new cocktail menu. The design brief got CuCo’s creative juices flowing.

CuCo designed a set of colourful, energetic and expressive cocktail illustrations to splash across their zesty new menu, adding a playful modern twist and showcasing the wide range of drinks on offer. The illustrations all have a strong, cohesive style, that serve to embellish the menu, without competing with each other.

Inks and watercolours were used to recreate the aesthetic of a freshly blended cocktail. The illustrations have a very free-hand feel and we wanted to retain their exquisite, hand crafted appeal, that echoes the love and care that goes into each freshly made cocktail. We see each one as a true work of art in itself, playing on the most primitive visual elements of execution in an incredibly beautiful and evocative way.

We hope you’ll agree the illustrations set the bar (haha!) very high, looking almost as delectable as the real drinks on offer! Feedback from the client was very positive and that always makes a happy hour for our illustration team!

Why not add some fizz to your weekend and head down to Athelhampton near Dorchester to try out their new menu? OR if you’d like to talk to CuCo about developing some illustrations to add that extra dash of personality to your brand, just get in touch and let’s talk! The only question you’ll need to answer beforehand is…shaken or stirred? Ours is on the rock please!
