Christchurch Bay 55 (CB55) are an established property development company based in, you guessed it, the beautiful coastal town of Christchurch in Dorset.
The Directors of CB55 approached CuCo to assist them in the development of their new branding and subsequent marketing collateral in time for the launch of their latest development, a seven house site in Mudeford.
Our designers produced a clean, modern brand identity for CB55. A bespoke hand-illustrated font was used to portray the tailored service the company provide to it’s clients and to emphasise their exclusive feel. We also made the decision to use the letter form rather than the numerical form of 55 to add a classy and professional feel to the brand.
The next challenge was to design a set of business cards for the team that would ensure a great initial impact for first contact with potential suppliers, clients and buyers. As we all know, first impressions count! Having good quality cards will immediately associate your company with quality, whilst having interesting, beautiful and aesthetically unique business cards will boost your memorability and make you stand out against the crowd. This in turn boosts engagement with your brand, which especially important when you are networking, as people usually leave events with a large stack of cards, and you want yours to stand out, be the one they remember, and ultimately who they choose to further the conversation with.
The cards we created were luxurious, high-quality and professional. They utilised a duplex effect, combining two 270gsm cards to create a layered overall 540gsm finish. We used a textured buckram front to add richness and charm, together with a high-quality GF Smith colour plain card. The logo and writing was created via letterpress to create dynamism and an added sense of luxury. We knew we wanted to reflect the brand using white writing but due to the inherent transparency of white ink, realised this was not viable, and hence decided to instead use foiling, an effective solution that ensured an opaque and beautiful finish.
With the brand and business cards in place, it was time to focus on the development itself. Our creatives and marketing team spent a morning (yep, they let us out of the office!) touring the site and taking in the feel of the surrounding areas. We also interviewed previous buyers in the area to establish what initially appealed to them in the lead up to their decision to purchase their coastal property.
We conceived the name ‘Pinebeach’ for the development, following our research and our own observations at Mudeford Beach, where the pine trees that line the view from the cliff were clearly an incredibly beautiful and a hugely distinctive feature of the area. This name was chosen to represent the beauty of the area, and to stimulate thoughts of the Mudeford lifestyle, and the long walks that could be taken through these pine-lined cliff paths along the stunning beach below. The idea that the development is only an incredibly short walk to the beach was something that we had established would appeal to all manner of potential buyers, from active young water-loving families to London Dwellers dreaming of a gorgeous relaxing weekend retreat by the sea.
It was then time to develop a brochure for Pinebeach. We were incredibly excited to work with CB55 on this project, as we knew that this development would be great for the local community, allowing more people to experience the beauty and charm of the area. It was incredibly important to us that the brochure itself encapsulated the Christchurch lifestyle – a diverse mix of heritage, beautiful coastline and countryside. The cover features washed New-England-style wood to reflect the image of the easy going, natural lifestyle associated with living in Christchurch. The brochure itself is brimming with large, high-definition images of the area. There are also detailed pages for each individual property, which include images of the exteriors, individual features and floor-plans. We decided to include compass aspects so that potential owners could visualise where the sunrise and sunset will be, and begin to plan how the properties might work with their daily routines. CuCo project managed the print of the brochures, suggesting a soft touch cover finish to indicate the quality of the development without being kitsch or garish.
When the development was finally ready for it’s grand launch, we were very delighted to be invited along to photograph the new homes and to meet and greet those involved with the project. The event was lovely, with a great reception including a beautiful spread and an impressive ribbon cutting ceremony by the Mayor. Having only seen foundations and the architects plans beforehand, it was incredibly satisfying to have the chance to see the finished properties, and see our brochure being handed out to potential buyers as a key selling tool.
