£1.5m redevelopment for Bournemouth Oceanarium

It’s all going swimmingly for our client, the Oceanarium, located in Bournemouth.
Following a superb summer season and the resounding success of the Oceanarium’s brand new creative concept for 2014, designed by CuCo Creative, the famous tourist attraction revealed last week that work begins today on the biggest development project in their sixteen year history.
Due to open in Q3 of next year, 2014/15 will see the Oceanarium go through it’s biggest transformation ever, not only with the introduction of Bournemouth’s very own colony of penguins (!!!), but also a whole host of other marine wildlife yet to be announced!
Having kept the project under wraps for the past 5 years, the Oceanarium have finally made public knowledge of the two story extension, which will increase the size of the aquarium by a third.
Now welcoming 200,000+ visitors to the aquarium ever year, the installation of the new penguin beach, pool and underwater viewing area will allow guests to get up close and personal with the birds, offering tourists more for their money than ever before.
2014 has seen the Oceanarium go from strength to strength. Back in summer of this year CuCo were asked to design bespoke invitations for a special tank warming party they were throwing to celebrate the arrival of two endangered baby Loggerhead Turtles and a pair of Mexican Crocs, complete with their own £25,000 reptile display!
CuCo delivered the Oceanarium with a set of invitations with a native-style Mexican twist for their Mexican-themed VIP launch evening. The event was very well-attended and the team spotted a whole host of Dorset’s VIP’s on the night, including the Mayor. Those in attendance were treated to the red carpet treatment, including cocktails and Mexican-style bites upon arrival.
