International brand Leica Camera came to CuCo Creative to design and build a bespoke sustainable exhibition stand that would garner the attention of conservationists and camera lovers alike at the worldwide renowned event Global Birdfair.
Leica’s previous bespoke exhibition stands had been very product focused. However, a new approach was needed for future exhibitions. Leica wanted to focus more on the sustainable values of the business, highlighting links to charity work and sustainability while displaying its rich history of having over 100 years of timeless camera design.

Incorporating Leica’s eco-friendly values into a new bespoke exhibition stand design would form the foundation of the build. Our creative team wanted to bring the outside in and knew only a bespoke exhibition stand design would work for this. The walls of the exhibition stand would all be made from timber rather than traditional metal or plastic framing that, if it found its way to landfill, would obviously be bad for the environment.
Natural elements were also used for the centre piece of the bespoke exhibition stand that displayed the Leica brand logo. UK native plants would be planted into a living wall and numerous gabion baskets around the exhibition stand. What made this exhibition stand even more special was the consideration of waste. Visitors could take the native plants home on the last day of the exhibition.
The charities Leica support feature prominently. We used raised panels with QR codes that display more information about what charities they support and which charity is your favourite.
Leica wanted to achieve an exhibition stand where they could engage with a younger audience while supporting loyal customers. To do this, we arranged sociable seating as a great place for visitors to talk to Leica experts and a repair booth for loyal customers.
Displaying Leica’s HD optics, from a range of cameras to binoculars, there was a TV display of Leica footage and a graphic background of woodland to connect Leica to the nature it supports.
In addition, Leica wanted a podcast booth incorporated within the exhibition stand to build up anticipation for the event and encourage discussions about nature and sustainability at the stand.
To meet the sustainable values, the exhibition stand had to be re-used over a 4 to 5 year period. Therefore storage and reinstallation formed an essential part of the project.
The team at Leica were thrilled with the bespoke exhibition stand design. Feedback and engagement were excellent, with the managing director of Leica adding that they felt they had the best stand at the show.
We at CuCo Creative are extremely pleased with the fantastic results achieved for Leica with their eco-friendly exhibition stand design and look forward to reinstalling it at the next event.
