CuCo’s creative team began the brand development for the Arts By The Sea Festival by diving into what the ‘Plastic Beach’ theme really meant with a beach clean brainstorm. Taking a brainstorm session out of the studio helped open our eyes to what washes ashore from the waves of the sea and helped give the team an understanding of the problems our beautiful beaches face each day.

The brand design would see the introduction of waves and soft round pebble-edged framing. This creative would then roll out across various forms of marketing and communications materials, from advertising, posters, leaflets, survey cards, email invites and of course a stunning 40 page programme.

The programme would incorporate the creative style of the illustrated cover throughout the design, whilst event pages would showcase all performances bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before, yet allow copy to breathe and key information to be clearly read.

To further support the ‘Plastic Beach’ theme CuCo sourced one the most envrionmentally-friendly print processes available. Using FSC Accredited uncoated paper and printing with vegetable-based inks that would dry instantly through a state-of-the-art LED-UV printing process, instead of normal uncoated print techniques that would require 24 hours UV drying.
