As the Bournemouth sun begins to show its jolly face on a daily basis it can only mean one thing, the festival season is alive and kicking. It’s time to get on those dancing shoes!
Luckily for us, Bournemouth and Dorset is a festival hub! And even luckier for us, we have had the pleasure of delivering marketing campaigns with many of these festivals!
Let’s jump in and explore our favourite festivals our marketing agency has worked with.
Bournemouth Air Festival
The UK’s largest air show happens right here in Bournemouth!
Bournemouth Air Show is 4 days with non-stop air displays, including the infamous Red Arrows. This festival is for adrenaline junkies who get their kicks from watching a variety of planes doing dips and dives through the sky. If that’s not frightening enough there is also a free-falling parachute display team!
Packed with a variety of land-based entertainment in case looking at people jumping from planes is enough to make your stomach hurl, including funfairs, food and drink and a big screen displaying a variety of great films.
CuCo has worked with Bournemouth Air Show and its marketing, designing the festival map with a fun and colourful approach, ensuring the large crowds can navigate themselves around the busy seafront area! It is worth highlighting we have illustrated and designed maps for tourist attractions as well as festivals, we know what makes the perfect user experience for navigation.
Christchurch Food Festival
As a marketing company that also designs packaging, we love food. That’s why we love Christchurch Food Festival, oh, and we have been responsible for the design and build of the event’s website in previous years!
Christchurch Food Festival showcases a variety of local foods and drinks. Not only do they showcase a wide variety of local cuisine, but Christchurch Food Festival also displays an array of different entertainment from a Circus School to Sheep Shows!
The festival offers great opportunities for all kinds of Dorset based food and drink brands like Oskuhus, Dorset Sea Salt Co, and English Oak Vineyard, all brands that we have worked closely with on packaging design, branding, web design and marketing.
At a food festival with this much variety, food brands need to stand out, but don’t worry! We also create market stalls to make sure your stand is the top pick for all the Dorset foodies there.
Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival
Every year this festival has a different theme, unfortunately, due to past regulations, the previous 2 years were cancelled. However, this year they’re back and better than ever!
This year’s theme is “Play”, inspired by a 2020 United Nations survey. They’ll be throwing their doors open to a range of music, dance, theatre, installations, and spectacles that explore the theme of play!
We’re especially excited to see these guys back and thriving as we were part of their festival marketing team for the theme “Plastic Beach”, which kicked off with a beach clean along Bournemouth seafront.
The Arts by the Sea festival is always inspired by fantastic themes, and we’re looking forward to getting involved in what activities they’ll announce!
Out of this World Festival
Another amazing creative festival our marketing agency has had the pleasure of branding.
Pavilion Dance South West play host to the Out of this World summer spectacular. The event is inspired by an eclectic mix of performers featuring acts like Future Cargo and Geophonic and many more, positioned across various locations in Bournemouth and Poole.
Rolling out the Out of this World festival’s marketing campaign was as fun for us as creating the branding. Sci-fi-inspired, with key acts taking over the town of Bournemouth, the theme for this festival would see the acts portrayed as giants dancing in and around landmarks. The thinking behind the creative could have its own blog, so that’s exactly what we’ll do. Watch this space!
With all this talk of festivals, I already have a sunburn.
Have we tempted you to a visit to our coastal town? As an added bonus to all the summer activities, we have a micro-climate 😉
If you’re an event organiser looking for a fun way to use advertising and marketing for your upcoming festival, we’re only a phone call (or a day trip) away.
Until then, wear your Factor 50 and Hawaiian shirts and get ready for festival season.
