As a wise marketeer once said ‘Hashtags are a pound sign immediately followed by a keyword’.

In other words, you should definitely be using hashtags.

Starting life on Twitter, the hashtag spread quickly to Facebook, Vine, Google+, Instagram and other social channels. Even LinkedIn experimented with hashtags for a while!

Today however, Instagram is the undeniable hotspot of choice for the hashtag.

But how many hashtags should we be using per post to gain maximum interaction?

Well Christmas just may of come early for social marketers, because the good news is, there doesn’t seem to be a saturation point.

Take home message: Failure to use hashtags renders your Instagram content virtually private. For best results scatter those little marks all over your Instagram posts like glitter!

The extra time you invest will pay off in engagements down the road.
