That’s why every day in the week leading up to Halloween, CuCo will be releasing a short article debunking a marketing demon that fills the hearts of our clients with fear and sends shivers down their spines. When all think alike, then no one is thinking – Walter Lippman

Creativity is without a doubt a skill and a talent that comes more naturally to some of us than others. Somehow managing to see the world from another perspective is no mean feat. Therefore it’s not surprising that just the sound of the words ‘creative’ or ‘idea’ can cast fear into the heart of the most hardened marketing professional. What if you simply hit a brick wall and can’t think of an original concept?

Ironically, research has shown that this anxiety and the terror of being judged as a ‘non-creative’ is the number one block on the road to creativity. As human beings, we also have a lack of ability to separate creation and evaluation in the brain and for that reason any ideas that don’t seem to fit with our logical perception of the world and our learned rules and boundaries tend to be dismissed subconsciously by our brain.
