First a website, now a package deal
Having completed a highly successful website redesign for a leading Harley Street podiatry clinic, CuCo Creative is now repackaging one of the practice’s main footcare products.
The London Nail Laser Clinic – UK pioneer of a revolutionary non-invasive treatment for fungal nail infections – has asked CuCo to redesign the packaging for its shoe hygiene spray.
The antifungal spray is a vital aftercare product and is recommended to all clients undergoing treatment at the clinic.
“The new-look spray can design is still on the drawing board but all will be revealed shortly,” says CuCo creative director Christian Cutler.
“The clinic loved our web redesign and we’re delighted to accept this latest commission.”
The clinic’s streamlined, updated and improved website can be viewed at www.thelondonnaillaserclinic.co.uk
Eco-friendly CuCo promotes Turtle Fest
CuCo Creative has produced the official poster for Turtle Fest, an upcoming conservation campaign promoted by international theme park Sea Life.
The fortnight-long festival will raise funds for a new turtle sanctuary in the Mediterranean – and CuCo’s poster will be displayed at all of Sea Life’s sites in the UK and across Europe.
The project is CuCo’s latest involvement in the €350,000 Sea Life campaign to save the endangered loggerhead turtle by opening and maintaining a rescue centre on the Greek island of Zante.
The festival will run from 23 May until 5 June and will embrace all things turtle, including talks, quizzes, games and crafts.
“It’s a brilliant cause and, with the Weymouth Sea Life centre barely an hour from our Bournemouth offices, I’m hoping to take the family along to join in the fun,” says CuCo creative director Christian Cutler.
Christmas ads – the crackers and turkeys
While the supermarkets and chain stores hawk their Christmas wares on a TV conveyor belt of tedious celebrity endorsement, it’s refreshing to know that a few festive ad campaigns still opt for flair, originality and imagination.
And, as is so often the case, it’s not so much what you put in as what you leave out. Three of the best examples we’ve come across in a random trawl of Christmases past and present score highly on the strength of their sheer economy and simplicity.
Take this ad for Nespresso – the “mug tree” concept is very neat. Yes, we all know that gimmicky coffee machines only come out at Christmas and will be consigned to the back of the cupboard before Twelfth Night, but hey, it’s a belter of an ad.
In similar vein we commend this 2007 effort for Mazda – icy road morphs into seasonal spruce – and a rather nifty “pencil tree” for the CreAds agency; straight to the point in more ways than one.
Cleverer still is this simple but brilliantly observed ad for Tide washing powder, putting a seasonal twist on an everyday office irritation and adding the perfect tagline. Understated and inspired.
Moving away from hard-nosed commercialism, there is much to admire in this Met Police crime prevention campaign poster. The eye-catching compare-and-contrast approach is enriched by its humour and lightness of touch – much more effective than a finger-wagging A2-sized lecture.
Well, that’s our opinion, anyway. What are the Christmas ads that float your boat – or sink your spirits? Feel free to share your thoughts with us…
The Further Adventures of CuCo Creative
Top Dorset family attraction Adventure Wonderland will enter 2011 with a new-look logo designed by CuCo Creative.
After a highly successful year which has culminated in being invited to host BBC South’s Children in Need show, the Bournemouth theme park is eager to take the momentum into the new year with a “freshener” for its signature artwork.
“It’s evolution rather than revolution,” says CuCo creative director Christian Cutler. “We’re confident that our redesigned logo will work well across all of Adventure Wonderland’s advertising and marketing literature, both print and online, embracing press ads, posters, website and much more besides.”
CuCo, which celebrated its second birthday this summer, was appointed Adventure Wonderland’s design agency in 2008 and has been responsible for a series of successful advertising, marketing and branding campaigns.
Going global with the Big Picture
London-based Big Picture TV has commissioned CuCo Creative to design six study guides for use by professors, lecturers and students at institutions all over the world.
The learning products include embedded video and will be used online at the company’s website, www.bigpicture.tv
Big Picture TV is a multimedia information resource for understanding key environmental and social issues. It boasts more than 350 videos live at any one time and up to 40 new uploads are added each month.
“We are proud to be associated with this respected, authoritative group and look forward to seeing our work showcased online via the Big Picture website,” said CuCo director and senior designer Tony Cook.
Putting on the glitz
CuCo Creative has stepped out in style by producing the official programme and promotional material for one of Bournemouth’s top dance attractions of 2010.
The Pavilion Dance Gala will be staged by Dance South West on Sunday 7 November from 3pm. In addition to the eight-page A4 programme, our design and online marketing teams have come up with posters, flyers and an e-newsletter to give the glittering event maximum exposure across both print and digital media.
CuCo Creative was appointed earlier this year as the design and marketing agency to work alongside the prestigious new dance centre being created at Bournemouth Pavilion by Dance South West, in partnership with the borough council.
Pavilion Dance duly made its bow in September and has quickly established itself as a mecca for Dorset people wanting to watch or take part in various forms of the art.
Next month’s star-studded gala will feature, among others, principals from The Royal Ballet – and an award-winning hip-hop group. Now that’s what we call variety…
Ads do the trick for a half-term treat
Half-term holidaymakers are flocking to Adventure Wonderland this week as CuCo Creative’s Hallowe’en advertising campaign keeps the turnstiles clicking merrily at the Dorset family attraction.
Our design team has produced a series of ads promoting events at the popular Bournemouth play park up to and including Sunday 31 October.
Cartoon favourite Scooby-Doo has already made a guest appearance, and the regular Adventure Wonderland characters are out in force all week to keep the kids happy.
In addition to the advertisements, CuCo Creative has produced a raft of other printed material and an e-newsletter to keep visitors bang up-to-date.
The power and impact of our ads for Adventure Wonderland was further illustrated earlier this month when a bumper crowd turned out for the regional launch of the BBC’s 2010 Children in Need appeal.
CuCo saddles up for charity
Straight from the horse’s tail, here’s news of CuCo Creative’s latest logo design project.
Requiring a new identity, a local charity tasked us with producing a colourful, fun-packed logo to encourage youngsters to take up riding.
The bold, cartoon-style branding will be used across a broad spectrum of literature, website, stationery, newsletters, T-shirts and so on, maximising impact for a very worthy cause.
