Room 101

I HATE this ad with a passion… no production values whatsoever, funds must have all gone on the song’s royalties. The people are even green screened and thus out of proportion to some of the sofas (or are very short people indeed). A fine example of shoehorning an idea around some lyrics.

love hate

Continueing with the Love/Hate idea, these are two of the new print ads for Marmite promoting a new range of Marmite Snacks. On each execution you can either love it or hate it depending on from what angle you are reading the ad from. They are all defaulted to the love option.

Sweet Humour

Two launch ads for the The Natural Confectionery Company by Fallon called “Mumble” & “Trumpets” have been launched. They make a nice change from the standard confectionary adverts. “Mumble” sees a red dinosaur trying to address a group of yellow pineapples about the natural ingredients that go into themselves, but can’t understand the responses as it doesn’t speak pineapple.

There she (he) blows…

This ad always makes me smile at the moment. It called ‘Geyser’ and is and american advert by JWT, and the nappy is quite literally holding in the little boys geyser which when the nappy is taken undone is let loose all over the room.

The sound of things

The premise of this campaign by BBH China, is that the installation of a Bose Audio System into your car will make your music sound as if you are sat in a theatre. Other versions of the ad were an image of theatre seats in rows with four having been replaced by car seats.

Vrooom

Yet another Volkswagen advert, this time from 2006 for the VW Golf R32, “Overtake Faster” Campaign. These slow vehicles are now a doddle to overtake which makes them seem as short as cute little tykes trucks.

A nice use of materials to get across the benefits of the new Mercedes G Class. They have used real stone and sand etc to make up the images of the G Class doing it’s thing to get over the point that it can tackle any terrain through at it.
